Written by Benjamin Franklin between 1771 and 1790, his autobiography is the unfinished record of his own life, which he referred to as his memoirs. Franklin was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States and was also a writer, inventor, printer, and scientist. He helped create the Declaration of Independence and helped negotiate the peace treaty with Britain that ended the Revolutionary War.
